Job requirements
We are looking for a Kafka specialist to support the deployment, integration, and operation of Apache Kafka within an enterprise environment. The role combines both integration work and platform management, depending on project needs.
The organization is transitioning from an existing IBM-based integration solution toward a Kafka-based event streaming architecture.
Mission:
• Support the implementation and operation of Apache Kafka in production environments
• Develop and maintain Kafka producers and consumers
• Integrate Kafka with APIs and microservices (REST-based architectures)
• Transform legacy integration flows into event-driven Kafka-based solutions
• Manage and monitor Kafka environments (clusters, topics, performance, scalability)
• Perform Linux administration tasks (service management, patching, troubleshooting)
• Ensure system stability, availability, and performance
• Handle incidents and provide operational support
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and integration teams
• Contribute to continuous improvement and best practices implementation
Technical environment:
Apache Kafka, event-driven architecture, Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, Linux, distributed systems, messaging systems, monitoring tools, CI/CD pipelines
Must have:
• Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka
• Experience with Linux systems administration
• Understanding of APIs and microservices (REST)
• Knowledge of distributed systems and messaging architectures
• Problem-solving skills and analytical mindset
• Ability to work in production environments
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Autonomy and sense of ownership
Nice to have:
• Experience with Java and/or Spring Boot
• Knowledge of other messaging systems (e.g., IBM MQ)
• Experience with middleware or integration platforms
• Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD tools
• Basic scripting skills (Shell or similar)
• Experience in large-scale or regulated environments
