Job description

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to contribute to the development and optimisation of data pipelines and enterprise data platforms, supporting large-scale data initiatives within a complex institutional environment.

The consultant will be involved in both the evolution of the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and the design of scalable, high-performance data workflows handling large volumes of structured and unstructured data.

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will support the following activities:

  • Design, develop and maintain Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW)

  • Build scalable data pipelines that integrate, transform and deliver data from various sources (databases, APIs, cloud services, streaming platforms)

  • Ensure performance optimisation of queries and workflows

  • Write modular, testable and production-grade code

  • Implement robust ETL/ELT processes ensuring data quality, consistency and reliability

  • Document data processes, flows and architecture for maintainability and troubleshooting

  • Elaborate and execute test programs to validate performance and correctness

  • Assist with deployment and configuration activities

  • Collaborate with other project teams and participate in coordination meetings

Job requirements

Required skills and competencies:

The ideal candidate demonstrates solid technical experience combined with attention to quality and a strong collaborative mindset.

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer working on modern data platforms and analytics solutions

  • Excellent understanding of data warehouse architecture and design

  • Strong hands-on expertise with SQL and data transformation tools such as dbt and Apache Spark

  • Familiarity with orchestration tools like Airflow or Dagster

  • Experience with platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Talend, or similar

  • Proficiency with relational database systems used in warehousing contexts

  • Good knowledge of data modelling tools, OLAP, and data mining techniques

  • Experience with data integration from diverse sources and maintaining pipeline integrity

  • Strong ability to ensure data quality through validation, monitoring, and testing

  • Rigorous coding standards and adherence to naming conventions

  • Experience working in large, multicultural teams

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to participate in multilingual meetings

  • Working proficiency in French and English (spoken and written)
