SharePoint Administrator at FRONTEX

Frontex – the European Border and Coast Guard Agency – is looking for experienced SharePoint Administrators to reinforce its Microsoft collaboration and digital workplace infrastructure environment.

Project Description

The project aims to support and enhance the collaboration platforms and enterprise content management services used within Frontex by ensuring the administration, maintenance, optimization, and evolution of complex SharePoint and Microsoft 365 environments.

The assignment focuses on the operational management of large-scale SharePoint infrastructures, including SharePoint Online, hybrid SharePoint architectures, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Azure AD, and related Microsoft ecosystem services. The consultants will contribute to ensuring platform stability, security, performance, scalability, and interoperability across distributed enterprise environments operating within EU restricted contexts.

The environment includes advanced Microsoft technologies, enterprise collaboration platforms, authentication and identity management solutions, hybrid cloud architectures, and ITIL-based operational processes. Consultants are expected to work on both operational support activities and long-term platform evolution initiatives, including deployments, migrations, architecture improvements, troubleshooting, and integration with third-party solutions.

The service is delivered in a hybrid model combining on-site presence at the Frontex Headquarters with remote service provision. The assignment requires strong technical expertise, excellent analytical and troubleshooting capabilities, autonomy, adaptability to rapidly evolving technologies, and the ability to operate efficiently within complex and security-sensitive environments.

Responsibilities

  • Administered and maintained complex SharePoint farms and SharePoint Online environments

  • Managed Microsoft 365 collaboration services including Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Azure AD, and Exchange-related services

  • Supported hybrid SharePoint infrastructures integrating on-premises and cloud environments

  • Performed SharePoint maintenance, patch management, monitoring, optimization, and capacity planning activities

  • Acted as 2nd line support for SharePoint-related incidents and service requests across production, testing, and development environments

  • Troubleshot and resolved complex incidents affecting distributed enterprise collaboration platforms

  • Managed authentication and identity integrations using Azure AD, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and SAML 2.0

  • Managed SSL certificates and secure communications between Service Providers and Identity Providers

  • Deployed SharePoint solutions and .sppkg packages through App Catalog environments

  • Supported migration activities using ShareGate Migration Tool and administered Netcompany GetOrganized ECM solutions

  • Participated in ITIL-based change management, release management, and configuration management processes

  • Collaborated with infrastructure and development teams to align SharePoint architectures, configurations, and deployments

  • Contributed to long-term improvements and evolution of SharePoint and Microsoft collaboration platforms

  • Maintained technical documentation and reported operational activities and incidents

  • Worked within restricted and security-sensitive environments while ensuring compliance with operational standards

  • Performed additional technical and operational tasks assigned by management
